DOMINIQUE CHICKENS
These medium size, calm-natured birds (called Domineckers here in the South) have been around since the 1800s. Their decent size and brown eggs with bright orange yolks, qualify them as dual purpose; meat and egg chickens. We've noticed that, while our rooster does do his crowing thing and the hens do cackle when they lay, overall these birds are very laid back and unflappable. They are excellent at eating more of whatever they can find outside - and less of our expensive non-GMO feed inside.
